Will the timer keep time if I switch tabs or the laptop sleeps?
Yes. It counts down to a moment on the clock rather than adding up ticks, so a background tab or a sleeping laptop cannot make it run slow. If it finishes while the tab is hidden, the alarm still sounds.
Can the class see it from the back of the room?
Press F, or the full-screen button. The digits fill the screen and the bar under them turns amber near the end and red for the last ten seconds.
What happens if I reload the page by accident?
The countdown carries on from where it should be. The running timer is kept in your browser until you reset it.
How do I set a time that is not in the list?
Type it in the box: 7 means seven minutes, 2:30 is two and a half, 90s is ninety seconds, 1h 15m works too.
Does the screen stay on?
While the timer runs, DeskWheel asks the browser to keep the screen awake. Most current browsers allow it; if yours does not, the countdown is still correct when the screen comes back.
